1. Wrong permit class
Filing under the wrong class is the number one cause of rejection. An investor filing a Class D employee application, or an employee filing Class G, will almost always be denied.
2. Weak justification
The Directorate expects a clear explanation of why a Kenyan cannot fill the role. Generic cover letters fail; detailed skills-transfer plans succeed.
3. Incomplete company documents
- Missing CR12
- Expired tax compliance certificate
- No company KRA PIN certificate
- Unsigned directors' resolution
4. Passport validity issues
Passports with less than 12 months of validity are routinely rejected. Renew before applying.
5. Missing police clearance
Applications require clearance from both Kenya and the applicant's country of origin. Old clearances (over 6 months) are commonly rejected.
6. Non-payment of fees
Files that sit unpaid are archived. Confirm the payment slip is generated and paid promptly.
7. Prior immigration offences
Overstays and prior violations must be regularised before a new application. We handle rectification and re-application.
